Meeting Place

Text Verse: Jeremiah 29:13-14 “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.”

God made us for relationships. He made us to have a deep communion with Him.
The word ‘meet’ means to come into the presence or company of (someone), it means to touch or join. He not only meets us, but He meets our needs as well. He is our Provider and Protector. God is our Father and we are His children.

The Meeting Place is in God’s Presence, and in Him we have:

  1. RESTORATION. It is a place of healing in all aspects – physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. To restore means to return to a former condition, place, or position. It means to repair or renovate so as to return it to its original condition. The unconditional love of God restores our whole being – spirit, soul and body. By the blood of Jesus we were cleansed and brought back to the life that God designed for us. God is the God who restores. In His presence there is completeness and restoration.
Jeremiah 30:17 ESV “For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the LORD, because they have called you an outcast: ‘It is Zion, for whom no one cares!’”
  2. RESTITUTION. The word restitution means to return of things or objects that were stolen or lost, payment made for damage or loss. God knows every single thing that was forcibly taken from us by the enemy. This does not only refer to the financial aspect but God can make up for lost time. “Divine acceleration is the supernatural ability of God applied to your life, your ministry, your time and your circumstances, to bring His plans to pass at a much faster rate than is humanly possible.”~H.Calder. Deuteronomy 30:3 ESV “then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.” Joel 2:25 NIV “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten– the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm — my great army that I sent among you.”
  3. REST. In God’s presence there is fullness of joy, there is overflowing unconditional love, and there is peace that surpasses all understanding. Worry and peace cannot co-exist. Anxiety flees in the presence of God.
Psalm 16:11 ESV “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Philippians 4:7 ESV “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Even in the midst of the storms you can rest in His presence, knowing full well that He is God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. We are secured in His presence.

When God shows up, heaven invades earth, light casts out darkness, love conquers fear. God will never leave us nor forsake. God’s got us. He has our back. As we seek Him with all our hearts and draw near to Him, He will be found and He will draw near to us. And in that meeting place, which is in His presence, there is Restoration, Restitution and there is Rest. He meets us and all our needs. He is faithful and He never fails.
